Love & Hope Bolivia is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit charity of the Coptic orthodox church Charity Organization aimed at the furtherance of the Biblical message of our Lord Jesus Christ's call to preach through missionary work sustained by a ministry of religious & humanitarian services for the people of Bolivia.
In addition to family assistance in the form of monthly stipends, Love & Hope offers installation of clean water systems, housing and boarding assistance, senior care programs as well as other help in maintaining a better quality of Life.
St. Abraam’s Day Care Center is located in the church neighbourhood. Although the daycare is very affordable, the church makes arrangements to subsidize children whose parents cannot cover the full cost. The children, aged 1 ½ to 5, receive love and care from the center, which is run by an American -qualified Bolivian educator. By the age of two, these children are potty-trained, and begin to use cutlery to eat on their own. The program’s focus is on the children’s nourishment, academics and hygiene.
The church operates a medical center which is located directly next to the church compound. The center’s facilities offer medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and naturopathic services. The church heavily subsidizes the center as services are offered at a very low cost to the entire community.
Ministry & Humanitarian Programs
The church offers computer classes to children and youth during school vacations. Volunteers and Sunday School teachers also use the computers for preparing lessons and other related activities. The computers have English language learning programs installed and are often used to teach and improve the language skills of congregation members. A quiet place to study, read or hold a Bible study, the library houses a collection of both spiritual and reference books in Spanish, English and French.
Love & Hope has developed a special relationship as an operating partner with ‘Global Fund for Widows’; a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering widows and female heads of households to overcome poverty through skills-based training, job creation, and micro-finance. Ultimately, our goal is to help widows achieve financial stability, self-sufficiency, accountability, and importantly, become a role model to her own children and to others.
The Global Fund for Widows applies its programs throughout the developing world by forming strategic partnerships with local NGOs, which are dedicated to the empowerment of widows. These local NGOs work in close collaboration with the Global Fund for Widows to develop unique solutions for empowering widows that are culturally and socially appropriate, as most importantly – Sustainable.
